PcLists picks complete, compatible PC builds from a budget and a goal, and answers five related questions beside it. The selection is rule-based: fixed rules and a percentage split of the budget, not a model guessing. The same inputs give the same build, and every build can be checked by hand.

Component prices are recorded by hand with the date each was last confirmed, and shown with that date. We do not sell components, we are not paid by anyone who does, and nothing on the site is ranked by who is paying — because nobody is. A price here is a record of what something cost when somebody looked, not an offer.

Resale and flip figures are estimates drawn from what a market has been doing. They are not a promise about your listing, and you should not treat them as one.

You must be at least 18 to hold an account that pays for anything. Reading the site takes no account at all.

One account is one person. You are responsible for what happens under yours and for the email address it is attached to.

Answers, metered in credits. A plan is one month of an allowance of credits, bought with one payment, and nothing else on this site is for sale. What each answer costs in credits is shown before you spend anything and is set on our side, not yours.

Credits are not money, cannot be transferred between accounts, and have no cash value except through the refund terms. A plan’s allowance does not roll over — it is an allowance for that month, and when the month ends it ends with it.

An answer is charged once. Opening the same answer again, on any device and for as long as it exists, costs nothing further.

A plan is not a subscription. You pay once, in US dollars, at the price shown on pricing, for one month of the plan counted from the day you buy it. When the month is up the plan stops. Nothing is charged again, on that day or any other, unless you come back and buy another month yourself.

Buying another month of the same plan while one is running adds it to the end. Buying a different plan while one is running starts the new plan straight away with a fresh allowance, and the days left on the old one are added to the end of the new one — from that moment the tools available are the new plan’s. Your account page shows the plan you are on and the day it ends.

There is nothing to cancel, because nothing renews. Money comes back within 14 days of a payment where the credits it bought are unspent; refunds sets that out in full and is part of these terms.

If we change what a plan costs, it applies to months bought after the change and never to one you have already paid for. Plans are billed in US dollars; the component prices elsewhere on this site can be read in euro, but a card is charged the dollar figure.

Do not resell or redistribute answers as a product of your own. Using a build for a machine you assemble for a customer is the Workshop plan working as intended; republishing the catalogue or the answers as a competing service is not.

Do not script the site, share an account between people, try to obtain credits without paying for them, or upload to the showcase anything that is not a photograph of a machine you built and are entitled to post.

We can suspend or close an account that does these things. Where we do, unspent credits are not refunded — where we close an account for any other reason, they are.

That a build is compatible is the one thing this site is tested on, and the tests sweep every budget, goal, resolution, brand, colour and size the site offers. We still do not promise a machine will be free of faults, that a part will be in stock, or that a price will hold — parts and prices belong to shops we have nothing to do with.

You are assembling the machine. Check the parts against each other when they arrive, and against the manuals, before you cut anything short.

The site is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, Pinewood Labs1 LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

You can stop at any time: simply do not buy another month, and delete your builds and your account from the account page whenever you like. We can end this agreement by closing your account, and other than for the reasons above we will refund what you have not used.

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Wyoming, United States. If you are a consumer somewhere with rights that cannot be signed away, you keep them, and nothing here is meant to take them from you.

If we change these terms we will change the date at the top, and where a change matters to something you are paying for we will tell you before it takes effect.
